As per manufacturer warranties and policies, if a residential appliance is installed in a commercial location, the warranty is void. Once the unit is brought out of the continental United States, the manufacturer warranty is also void.

The refrigerator's still in doubt

So far I have had this refrigerator for almost 3 weeks. I think it is a beautiful and well built model. however, I am finding the fridge portion doesn't seem to keep the Temperature it is set to. Whether it is set to 34 or 37 degrees, it will read on an analog and digital thermometer I put inside 38 to 41 degrees. I have called the service department where I purchased it from and they are going to see what is the problem. Could it be a firmware or maybe something else? Has this refrigerator been checked before shipping? This shouldn't be happening to a new refrigerator.

I have owned GE appliances for our entire 40 year marriage so I decided to stick with GE for our brand new retirement home. I love all the features and the lighting in both fridge and freezer is awesome. The ease of opening freezer drawers is especially helpful as we age in place. Love the darker stainless color which "pops" with my cream cabinets. We bought a suite of GE appliances due to our experience of GE dependability.

This slate finish French door refrig. has everything we wanted. The freezer drawer has lots of room with baskets and dividers. The use of space in the refrigerator is excellent and I have a place for everything without the need to stack items. We didn't want one with an in-door ice maker to provide more room inside and we are happy with this purchase.

Love our new refrigerator-bottom freezer. We didn't have a large spot and it fits perfectly. We didn't want a water dispenser/ice maker on the door, which many of the fridges now have. This model did not and we were lucky to find it. Matches our range, which is 5 years older, perfectly. Many colors get obsolete. Very pleased with our purchase.

The seals on the doors are so tight that when I try to open the freezer, the entire fridge moves. I have to constantly move the fridge back in place and you need lots of muscle to finally get the freezer door open. Also, the top doors do not close without lots of pushing. The freezer compartment is a joke. The top tray does not pull out far enough so there are items in the back that are not visible without bending way down to see them. All the rest of the items must be piled on top of each other, blocking the view of many items. I absolutely HATE the freezer!! The top of the fridge is great, but that does not make up for the issues with the freezer. I don't recommend this.

Pros: Nice bright interior lighting, counter depth makes everything easy to see; door bins have plenty of capacity; quiet operation. The slate finish exterior stays looking clean.
Cons: freezer drawer design is the equivalent of the frozen food junk drawer; fresh fruit and vegetable drawers could be larger for our needs.

Interior of the fridge is nicely sectioned; shelves and drawers seem to be holding up well.
The deduction in rating stems from: 1. handle of freezer drawer keeps coming off because of ridiculously weak design; screws are way too small to properly secure the handle to the drawer; 2. Protective plastic film does not come off properly; bits and pieces are stuck in the seams; quite the eyesore 3. doesn't hold temperature at the set number: I set fridge temp at 37 and after a couple of days it drops to 35.

I love the color. It looks good even with silver microwave and oven that we already had.
We were afraid that it is too small but surprisingly it holds all we usually buy.
I like that there is a lot of space on the doors.
